Mermaids

Mermaids: Persuasive Campaign
1)      Watch Mermaids: The Body Found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWE4g33dwdI
a.       Create an Appeals Chart and note any and all examples of establishing credibility (ethos), appeals to logic (logos), and appeals to emotion (pathos)
b.      Turn in at the end of the video
2)      Form a team of no more than 3 members.
a.       Your team will be assigned a mythical creature
b.      Your entire persuasive project will revolve around that creature
3)      You and your team will create a website that attempts to persuade others that your creature actually exists and needs to be saved. It must include appeals to ethos, logos, and pathos.
4)      Your team will create a “mockumentary,” similar to the Mermaids video shown in class about your creature. You will need to incorporate historical, scientific, visual, and compelling evidence as to the existence of your entity.
5)      HAVE FUN!
Due Dates:
Appeals Chart due on Tuesday, March 10th, by the end of the Mermaids video.
Website due by the end of class on Friday, March 13th.
Your “mockumentary” and presentation is due on Friday, March 20th.
